Best Tasting Protein Bars: 3 Healthy Protein Bars That Taste Like Dessert

Protein bars are typically chalky, full of junk and filler, and will not help you with lean muscle gains. The protein bars that aren’t full of cheap and ineffective muscle-building ingredients typically contain a bunch of sugar and are not ideal for making lean muscle gains.

The three bars that are on my list of best tasting protein bars not only taste like your favorite candy barsbut also are relatively healthy and contain a surplus of protein to help you with lean muscle gains.

If you find yourself craving candy bars, brownies, or sugar wafers, these protein bars will help satisfy that craving AND help you gain lean muscle mass. Yes, now you can have your cake and eat it too!

Let’s dive into the three best tasting protein bars. I enjoy all three of these bars regularly, and they all possess solid macronutrient profiles that will help you gain lean muscle mass.

Best Tasting Protein Bars #1: Quest Bars

Quest-Bars-Best-Tasting-Protein-BarsQuest bars have an incredibly clean and effective muscle-building ingredient profile, and if you choose one of the threeflavors I’m going to recommend, they will also help satisfy your sweet tooth.

Quest bars actually contain UNDER 200 calories, pack 20 grams of protein, and have very low amounts of sugar. How do they manufacture them to taste incredibly delicious?Based on my research, the main ingredient, which is a natural plant-based fiber, is very sweet tasting similar to a sugar. This is the fibrous compound that makes up the base of these bars and is pure fiber keeping the net carbs very low.

A few of the Quest bar flavors also contain candy chunks that give them the taste and consistency of a candy bar. My three favorite flavors and the three most popular flavors of Quest bars contain these candy chunks.

The three flavors I recommend to satisfy your sweet tooth are the white chocolate raspberry, chocolate chip cookie dough, and cookies and cream. These are so decadent and delicious that I have caught myself unable to stop at just eating one!

I usually will buy one of each of my three favorite flavors and consume them in one sitting for a meal replacement “cheat meal.” When you add up the macronutrients to consuming three of these in one sitting, it actually still has less than 600 calories and over 60 grams of protein! Not bad for satisfying your sweet tooth and containing almost no sugar!

Best Tasting Protein Bars #2: Power Crunch

power-crunch-Best-Tasting-Protein-BarsPower Crunch bars are another delicious option for satisfying your sweet tooth and not spiking your insulin, which causes you to store body fat. Power Crunches remind me of those sugary wafer thins and the peanut butter-filled wafers but with a thicker and more dense consistency.

Power Crunch bars contain only 5 grams of sugar and 200 calories per bar. They also contain 13 grams of protein. While they don’t have as much protein as the other bars on this list, they still have a very good overall ingredient profile and are delicious!

If you are a huge fan of those crunchy peanut butter chocolate wafers, then you have to try the chocolate peanut butter Power Crunch. These are absolutely amazing. I recommend the chocolate mint, chocolate peanut butter, and wild berry flavors. You really can’t go wrong with any of the flavors, however. I have tried them all and they are all delicious.

Best Tasting Protein Bars #3: Muscle Brownies

muscle-brownie-Best-Tasting-Protein-BarsTime to review my favorite brownie of all time: Lenny and Larry’s Muscle Brownies! These brownies are so delicious and do an incredible job of satisfying my intense chocolate craving.

Muscle Brownies contain about 20 grams of protein and slightly more than 300 calories per package. They are higher in calories than the Quest bar and Power Crunch bar but pack a rich and decadent brownie taste. I even tried baking a Lenny and Larry Muscle Brownie one time, and it was incredibly moist and delicious. If you find the regular consistency kind of dry, you should try baking it for a few minutes at 350 degrees.

Muscle Brownies come in three delicious flavors: chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and cookies and cream. They are all delicious, and if I had to pick a favorite, I would probably go with cookies and cream.

Muscle Brownies pack a delicious punch and do an incredible job of satisfying your chocolate and brownie craving. I usually stick with Muscle Brownies during “bulking season” since they are very high in calories compared to Power Crunch and Quest bars. A Muscle Brownie contains over 300 calories, so they are a perfect protein treat for any naturally skinny guy’s bulking season.

The Advantage of Being a Naturally Skinny Guy

being-a-Naturally-Skinny-GuyOne of my favorite things about being a naturally skinny guy is that I can enjoy delicious treats without having to worry about putting on body fat. While most naturally skinny guys think it’s a curse, I actually think it’s a blessing.

I talk to a lot of guys who are endomorphs (the opposite body type of being naturally skinny), and although they can put on muscle mass very easily, they are typically jealous of naturally skinny guys because they can enjoy pretty much any type of food without suffering the body fat storage consequences.

Naturally skinny guys also have incredibly aesthetic physiques once they put on lean muscle mass, so enjoy the three best tasting protein bars regularly and look at your naturally skinny frame as a blessing instead of a curse when you sink your teeth into a delicious Muscle Brownie.
