Foods To Eat To Gain Muscle: Eat These 5 Things For Faster Gains

What’s going on, guys? Hope that your training is going well and you are all prepared for the upcoming beach season! I love food more than anyone I know, so I always get excited about sharing my favorite muscle-building foods that pack on lean muscle mass and help you guys gain weight. This is a delicious list complete with some of my most recent obsessions.

Make sure to incorporate all of these 5 foods into your diet, as they will help you increase your overall weight, build muscle, and even increase your testosterone levels. This list packs a serious health and muscle-building punch and is filled with foods that are all perfect components to a muscle-gaining diet.

So many skinny guys ask about what to eat to gain muscle, so I love creating these muscle-building foods lists for you all. These are all things that I eat regularly and have seen tremendous results from, so I hope that you are all able to reap the same benefits I have. What is interesting about this list is that they are not all protein-based food sources. When you learn and understand how your body operates, you find out that building lean muscle mass is a lot more complicated than just consuming lean proteins. This list hits on a few of these “non-protein” muscle-building food sources that are perfect complements to a muscle gain diet.

Let’s dive right into the list. Make sure to consume all of these a few times a week for optimal results as they all help you build lean muscle mass in different ways. Bon appétit!

Foods To Eat to Gain Muscle #1: Salmon

Salmon-Perfect-Mass-Gain-DietNothing is better on the grill than a delicious piece of grilled salmon. Did you guys know that salmon is my top seafood choice for a muscle-building diet? The reason is quite simple – salmon is loaded with omega fatty acids and protein. This creates the perfect storm to optimize your health and muscle-building efforts. Salmon is higher in healthy fats than other seafood, so it’s perfect for a mass gain diet. Naturally skinny guys usually don’t consume enough healthy fats, so this is a really easy way to consume more protein and healthy fats in the same meal. Salmon is a muscle-building powerhouse, and you should have it for dinner 2-3 times per week.

Foods To Eat To Gain Muscle #2: Brazil Nuts

Brazil-Nuts-High-calories-For-Body-buildingBrazil nuts are absolutely loaded with healthy fats and are one of the most caloric nuts on the planet. This is perfect for a naturally skinny guy trying to gain weight. Not only are Brazil nuts high in calories, but they also have been linked to higher testosterone levels due to the extremely high selenium levels. This is why Brazil nuts have always been on the list of foods to eat to gain muscle. Bodybuilders swear by the power of Brazil nuts, and they are perfect for any muscle-building diet. Brazil nuts are high in monounsaturated fats and protein, making it an ideal snack for a bodybuilding diet.

Foods To Eat To Gain Muscle #3: Broccoli

Brocolli-Side-Dish-For-Muscle-BuildingBroccoli is by far my favorite vegetable because it can be made in several delicious ways. My favorite broccoli recipe for muscle building and fat burning is to steam it and drizzle coconut oil, cayenne pepper, and some Mrs. Dash salt-free seasoning. While most people consider broccoli a healthy food, most don’t realize that it is actually the perfect side dish for any muscle-building diet.

Broccoli actually has some anti-estrogen properties that will help you build more muscle. As you may know, both men and women have estrogen and testosterone production. Men have much higher levels of testosterone and women have much higher levels of estrogen. For a great muscle-building diet, you want to eliminate as much estrogen as possible. Broccoli accomplishes this by diminishing estrogenic effects while strengthening testosterone. This makes it one of the most important foods to eat to gain muscle. Most people think of food to gain muscle simply as just protein sources, but there is a lot more to it than that.

Foods To Eat To Gain Muscle #4: Watermelon

WaterMellon-Great-Post-workout-Carb-To-Gain-MuscleNot only is watermelon a delicious summertime snack, but it also happens to be the perfect post-workout carbohydrate source for a muscle-gaining diet. Watermelon tops the list of best foods to eat to gain muscle because it is a high glycemic carbohydrate, making it spike insulin levels while also being a great post-workout carb. And here’s the best part – watermelon is really high in the amino acid citrulline, which converts to arginine in the body and helps to boost your nitric oxide levels and naturally boost your human growth hormone levels. This accomplishes the post-workout goal of boosting your HGH levels, increasing blood flow to the muscles for rapid recovery, and replenishing muscle glycogen. Talk about a delicious food to gain muscle!

Foods to Eat To Gain Muscle #5: Wheat Germ

Wheat-Germs-Muscle-Building-Power-HouseWheat germ is one of my favorite muscle-building carbohydrates and coincides perfectly with a muscle gain diet. Wheat germ is rich in muscle-building micros, such as zinc, iron, selenium, potassium, B Vitamins, BCAAs, along with muscle-building protein and slow digesting carbohydrates. What a muscle-building powerhouse! Wheat germ is really convenient to implement into your diet because you can coat your chicken or fish with it. This makes for the perfect combination of protein and slow digesting carbohydrates. Wheat germ coated fish is one of my favorite muscle-building diet foods to gain muscle mass and increase my overall health.
