Foods To Gain Weight: Tuna Melts Recipe

When you’re looking at different foods to gain weight that you want to include in your meal plan, you’ll need to include a good source of protein for each meal. An easy way to do this is with tuna.

Personally I’m not crazy about tuna, but when it’s prepared the right way it can actually be delicious.

These tuna melts pack a whopping 52 grams of protein so this is an ideal food to gain weight. You can eat these a variety of ways, but I usually split them up into 2 sandwiches. (Depending on your calorie requirements you may only need 1 sandwich.)

Here’s what you’ll need for this muscle-building recipe:

  • 2 cans of tuna
  • 1 egg
  • Chopped onions
  • Garlic powder
  • Oatmeal
  • Cooking spray or olive oil
  • Mozzarella cheese

You’ll combine the tune, egg, onions, garlic powder, and oatmeal into a bowl and mix thoroughly. (Check the video for the measurements.)

Then you’ll form the mixture into 1 or 2 patties.

Preheat a frying pan with cooking spray or olive oil in it… When it’s nice and hot, slap the tuna patties on and let them cook for a few minutes. Then flip and cook the other side.

You’ll start to smell the weight gain goodness.

When they’re done, throw them onto a baking sheet and top with mozzarella cheese. Put them in the oven and broil them for a few minutes until the cheese melts and starts to get singed. (Watch the video and you’ll see what I mean.)

Now they’re done and you’ve got high-protein tuna patties that you can add to any meal. These are one of the best foods to gain weight and you can eat them just 2-3 times a week if you’re worried about the mercury.
