Post Workout Meal – The Most Effective Post Workout Meal For Building Muscle

In this video we’ll discuss the perfect post workout meal for guys who want to gain muscle, gain weight, and pack on a lot of size. Your post workout meal is actually extremely important as I’m sure you realize if you’re watching this video.

The main goal of your post work out meal is to prevent muscle breakdown, or muscle catabolism after your workout and to get your body back into an anabolic muscle building state.

One good thing to include in your post workout meal is a fast absorbing protein source. You don’t want to eat things like casein protein, or cottage cheese, or anything that’s going to absorb very slowly. You want something like tilapia, or salmon. Something that’s going to get into your blood stream faster.

So lets just cover the basics: You need protein and you need carbs. Personally I keep fat sources out of my post workout meal completely because it’s going to slow down the absorption rate of all the other nutrients in your body.

For your post workout meal you want to get nutrients into your blood stream as quickly as possible. So you’d do okay if you just cut fat out of this meal completely. So a good meal for me is rice (brown or white) and some kind of fish like salmon, or chicken is okay too.

So those are my tips for your post workout meal. Cut out the fat. Get a good source of protein that’s fast absorbing, and lots and lots of carbs.
